Music
Music is an important creative tool to inspire and stimulate the imagination and it is a very important part of our teaching at Weston Green. Our aim in teaching music at our school is not solely for children to sing well or read music, but to provide each child with an extra dimension that music can bring as a means of expression and communication. Also that music enhances their creative development.
For our nursery and kindergarten children we aim to introduce them to listening and taking part in a variety of musical experiences with enjoyment and enthusiasm.
In the main school it is our intention that all children enjoy listening and taking part in all aspects of music offered, whether it is class assembly, hymn practice, music workshops, celebration services at All Saints Church, School Productions and music lessons. Our aim is that they develop an interest in a wide range of music and composers, that they may have a desire to learn a musical instrument and share their talents in school performances.
