Pastoral Care

At Weston Green School there is great emphasis placed on the development of the whole child.

To achieve this we have excellent pastoral care systems in place, indeed a recent Ofsted report recognised these to be “outstanding”.

We believe that children need positive adult role models who are consistent and set clear boundaries. This helps pupils develop a sense of right and wrong and to consider how their actions have consequences for others. Our pupils learn to respect one another, property and the environment they share with one other.

Weston Green pupils establish firm friendships very quickly and it is a delight to watch as pupils play, share news, congratulate each other on achievements and spend time together after school. The family atmosphere of the school also establishes firm friendships amongst the adults, who act as role models for our pupils showing them the importance of valuing friendship.

We aim to provide our pupils with many experiences to promote positive relationships, individual responsibility and to further extend their confidence. In the main school we operate a House System whereby children learn to cooperate, work and support each other. House Captains are selected by both teachers and pupils and perform an important role as aspiring leaders.

Carefully structured activities and programmes at Weston Green provide an environment for pupils to develop confidence in themselves as learners and explorers and also as critical thinkers.
