The sound of music

Posted on: 02 Mar 2017 by Weston Green School

Last year, I asked you whether you thought in words, pictures or music? So many of us go through a day with songs in our hearts and minds, sometimes even humming them out loud without appreciating that others can hear us! And why not as this is indicative of the importance of music for so many of us and of the love of music which we hold dear.

The House Music Competition rightly took centre stage last week - and what a delight it was! The children had been building towards it for a few weeks and then the moment came, with the collective effort of the House Song and individual bravery and ability in the instrumental and vocal finals. It was therefore both competition and togetherness in a typically terrific Weston Green way and I hope you will get a flavour of that in the forthcoming teatime and Spring Concerts. It was a time to enjoy, celebrate and marvel.

Congratulations to all – and especially to Arbrook who won the House Singing and to Luc Martinez who won the Smit Cup for best overall performance.
