What a show!

Posted on: 29 Mar 2017 by Weston Green School

Another term draws to a close and it has done so in fitting fashion for Weston Green with the truly splendid Key Stage 1 show ‘Kids’ being the centre-piece. What a show it was! As stunning in its variety as its high-quality performance, it was thoroughly entertaining, celebrating the role of children in West End shows so superbly. I am sure all of you will join with me in saying a huge ‘well done’ to the children and to Ms Griffin whose own genius and passion for the performing arts shone through so strongly in the children’s obvious enjoyment, confidence and masterly presentation.

For the older children, the emphasis has perhaps been more upon sport of late as they have competed for both the House swimming and hockey – and all with half an eye on the big prize as we head towards that point where the Harvey Cup will be lifted high by on of the House Captains for this term. This will take place in the Final Assembly in which we show the children a slideshow of the term which, we trust, is a reminder to them of all that they have experienced and accomplished over the last 3 months. It is a lovely, buoyant and yet reflective way of moving from the busy nature of term to, perhaps, a less pressured time when we can once again pause to appreciate afresh the love and sacrifice, joy and triumph of the Easter Story. May you have a blessed Easter with those you love.
