Bruce Oldfield Impressed by Weston Green’s Crazy Hat Day

Posted on: 08 Apr 2014 by Weston Green School | Category: General News

After raising a fantastic £200 for Barnardo’s children’s charity from the School Council’s ‘Crazy Hat Day’ initiative, the pupils also wrote to the famous fashion designer, Bruce Oldfield, who grew up in a Barnardo’s home, to send him a some of the amazing photos of the day. We were delighted to receive the following response from Bruce:

From: Bruce Oldfield

Subject: stunning hats

‘Dear boys and girls,

Wow, those hats were amazing – very creative and original!

I have sent the picture on to Royal Milliner, Phillip Treacy who designs hats for Everybody… I thought he should see the competition that is coming along.

Thank you also for the wonderful cheque for £200, it will be very helpful towards Barnardo’s work looking after young children up and down the country.

Well done and keep being creative! Bruce.’
