Year 6 Interview with Mr Harrison

This week Mr Harrison met with Year 6 who were keen to find out more about his first week at Weston Green and his plans for the future:

Good morning, Mr Harrison, how was your first week? Was it better or worse than you imagined?
It was as good as I could have hoped for and well done to the children for settling into their new year groups so quickly.

Why did you want to be a Headteacher?
After being a deputy head, I wanted to try the job of Headteacher.

Why did you move schools?
Having been at my last school for five years I knew that it was time for a new challenge.

What did you enjoy about being at your last school?
The 50 acres of ground to explore and lots of trees to climb!

Why did you choose this particular school?
I was struck by the lovely atmosphere and feel of the school which certainly has not diminished over the holidays.

Did you expect to get the job being Headteacher here?
I honestly did not know but I hoped so.

What will you change about the school?
My most important focus is the teaching so look out for me as I will be visiting lots of lessons.

What plans do you have for changes to the school in terms of staffing?
We have some excellent new staff who have also joined this term so I look forward to hearing from you on how they are getting on.

Well done on surviving your first week!
