All that jazz!

Posted on: 24 Feb 2015 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 2, Year 6

Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful celebratory afternoon once the exams had finally finished, by having lunch at Pizza Express before hitting the Rose Theatre in Kingston for 'Jazz First Tuesdays'. This is a free event held at the Rose, for anyone who enjoys jazz.

Following on from enjoying a delicious pizza at the restaurant, where they displayed impeccable manners, year 6 then walked to the theatre to listen to 'The Meredith White Trio' . The children were a credit to the school as they listened with interest to a selection of pieces by the trio. The visit complemented their work in music lessons and they left, inspired by many of the techniques used by the musicians to help them with their own compositions.

This was a wonderful way to round off an intense few weeks for year 6 as they not only faced their 11+ exams but have also had to face the nail-biting experience of waiting for results.
