Year 1 have had their news reporters’ heads on this week and really enjoyed planning and delivering a live report from the school grounds. With the tree falling in the playground being the obvious topic to cover, the children set to work thinking about the key information they needed to include and practising their best presenting voices.

 

The children watched some news clips to get ideas of how to present their own reports and decided they needed to interview some eyewitnesses to make the reports more interesting! Having thought carefully about the content and rehearsed the delivery, the children were ready to give their views on Tuesday’s events. It was lovely to see them using different media in their literacy lesson and how natural some of them were behind the cameras. BBC News here we come!  Read more…
