Attracting treasure

Posted on: 01 Mar 2017 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 2, Year 3

Year 3 have been investigating magnets over the past two weeks and were excited to come across a treasure hunt to start their lesson in science. The children were asked to use a variety of magnets to see which could uncover the treasure, testing the strength of the magnets as well as sorting magnetic and non-magnetic items. Exploring the classroom afterwards lead to some interesting discoveries of what is and is not magnetic and got the children thinking about why we use magnets in everyday life.
