Exploring Painshill

Posted on: 12 Oct 2016 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 2, Year 4

On a fresh and sunny Monday Year 4 were privileged  to leave their classroom and make the short trip to Painshill Park. The purpose of the visit was to deepen their knowledge of Roman Britain, and develop their map work skills. The morning involved the children role playing as Roman settlers, learning about Roman Gods, the different materials they would have used and where they might have built settlements. In the afternoon the children explored the park, doing some geo-orienteering. During a day full of historical and geographical exploration the children walked over 10km!
