House Music Competition

Posted on: 02 Mar 2017 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2

On Thursday 23rd February we held our annual House Music Competition. Our guest adjudicator Jeanette Marr (Director of Music – Danes Hill) presented such wonderful and positive feedback to 8 instrumentalists and vocalists as they performed a solo piece. These children had been selected to go forward from a first round audition.

She awarded Anaya Patel the winner of the vocal category and Luc Martinez on Drums from the instrumental category who then won the ‘Smit Cup’ for the overall winner. We were delighted to have Mrs Smit at school that day to present Luc with the cup and a very big well done to Luc.

Each house sung one allocated Gospel Song and performed with such enthusiasm and many with actions that made you want to join in. Mrs Marr awarded Arbrook the overall house winner of the song ‘Ain’t no mountain high enough’. To see photos of the event please click here.

The winning house and the instrumental finalists will all perform again a long side both KS1 and KS2 choir at a concert on Thursday 16th March @ 3.30pm.
