It’s all in a heartbeat for Year 2!

It’s all in a heartbeat for Year 2!

This week Year 2 had great fun in science.  As part of our health and growth topic, we have been looking at the effect of exercise on our bodies.  The children were asked to run on the spot for a couple of minutes so that they could observe changes to their heart rate, the feeling of their skin, how their muscles felt, and what happened to their breathing.

The children’s comments included  "my heart’s beating really fast”, “we are all sweaty now”, “we’re all breathing harder”, “when you exercise you feel your heart needing to beat faster” and “it makes your legs achy” and “you’re heart’s faster to send blood to your muscles”.

Great job Year 2, you wrote some fantastic observations down back in the classroom!
