Kindergarten at Forest School: 19 May

Posted on: 23 May 2016 by Weston Green School | Category: Forest School, Early Years, Kindergarten

We were excited to be back at Forest School this week after the unfortunate events last week with the flooding of the site.

On arriving to the woodlands we spotted a bird’s nest hidden inside a tree and watched as the mother bird revisited the nest to deliver food. Many children hid in nearby trees to watch and listen and were fascinated by how all the birds fitted inside the small gap in the tree and decided to try and see if they could climb into small spaces.

Mrs Pinhey visited Forest School this week and made some music with the children using water, tubes and bottles. The children soon realised that filling the bottles with water and blowing into the tubes made bubbles and a fountain of water. We had many giggles when they got some of the adults wet!

The children also enjoyed bark rubbing, making fairy houses and exploring the woodlands.
