May the force be with … year 2!

Posted on: 24 Feb 2015 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 1, Year 2

In science this half term, year 2 are exploring forces. This involves exploring pushes and pulls and what actions require a push and what actions require a pull. We have already heard some great ideas: to draw a picture you need to push your pencil on to the paper - not too hard though please! Another excellent idea was the use of pulling to stop a horse. Again, don’t pull too hard please!

Forces are used every day and we will also be discussing and exploring the different ways in which forces help all of us. The children will investigate many different aspects of the topic including how forces can change different materials and how they are used in the sports that the children play inside and outside school.
