Preparing for our trip

Posted on: 06 May 2015 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 2, Year 6

The French trip approaches, Normandy awaits a very special landing and the Château de la Baudonnière team is putting the final touches to their preparations for the long-awaited arrival of our year 5 and year 6 classes. Meanwhile back in Blighty, year 6 have been hard at it during their French lessons. They have devoted their time to practising transactional vocabulary, creating and performing role plays, learning and testing each other on useful phrases ready for their immersion experience next week. This may sound daunting but I know that our pupils will understand, absorb and produce much more French than they can imagine. Something magic will be happening to our Year 5 & 6 pupils' brains whilst they are interacting in French next week! The language acquisition area of their brains are very much alive at this age and they will make enormous progress as well as having a lot of Gallic fun and culture. Don't forget 's'il vous plait et merci'
