Scientific Art

Posted on: 04 May 2016 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 1, Year 1

Following on from their trip to Kew Gardens, year 1 have continued to explore plants, how they grow and what they need to survive as part of their ‘Plant Detectives’ topic. During a cross-curricular lesson involving art and science, the children worked together to create images of plants using what they found on a scavenger hunt in the playground. This encouraged the children to think carefully about the different parts of a plant and led to discussions about what the parts of a plant do. Have a look at how they got on here...http://www.westongreenschool.org.uk/school-life/photo-gallery/scientific-art
