Year 1 visit beautiful Kew Gardens

Posted on: 15 Jun 2017 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 1, Year 1

We had a fabulous trip to beautiful Kew Gardens just before the half term. We all became ‘Plant Scientists’ for the day and learnt about the parts of plants.

We visited The Hive and listened to the sounds which come from a real bee hive in Kew Gardens. After that we explored the rainforest plants in the Palm House. Our workshop was very interesting and we learnt a lot of new plant facts. There was a lot of walking to be done as we navigated our way through the gardens to all the different areas. To finish off the day, we climbed the 118 steps up to the Treetop Walkway and looked at the trees from a new angle. What a brilliant day. Some of us were a little tired on the way home though!
