Year 6 get blogging!

Posted on: 30 Sep 2015 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 2, Year 6

Mrs Earp has handed over this week’s blog to Year 6.

Here, the Year 6 Media Team explain what has been happening this term.

Thomas  & Callum s: “Year 6 has been working very hard this term but we have really enjoyed the moments we have shared with our buddies. We were very proud to represent our class and school on Open Morning and although a little nervous, enjoyed escorting the many visitors.”

The 11+ process has been full on, as Rorke  writes: “Year 6 are undertaking large amounts of 11+ practice tests in maths, English, non-verbal and verbal reasoning.  We are all trying very hard to improve our scores and timing and in-between this we have been having interview practice with Mr Harrison and Mrs Earp.”

Challenge Club has been very busy as Joe  explains: ”This term we are making a ‘Weston Green’ newspaper. Every week we visit Miss Watson to write and put together a part of the newspaper. Each child has been given a certain subject: as one of my strengths is in maths, I have been given the maths page. Have a look when it comes out!”

Another new Thursday activity has proved to be very popular, “’Outdoor Explorers’ with Mr Bashford is great activity because of how you learn more about the creatures and plants in our environment. It is also great fun!” comments lead explorer, Monty.

With such a sporty bunch of children, it would be remiss to not have an update from Tom:”Sport is a key aspect of Weston Green. We go offsite twice a week to practise our skills in football and hockey this team and we are very ready for our first match!”
