WGSPA (Parents’ Association)

All parents are members of the Parents’ Association (PA) that is run by the parents. The coordinator chairs PA meetings and meets regularly with the Headteacher.

The PA organises events to enable parents to socialise, both at family activities, such as the Christmas and Summer Fairs, and at evening events.

Alongside the social aspect, the events organised by the PA raise money for extras at the school, which will enhance the children’s time at Weston Green.  Alongside this, in recent years a large sum of money raised by the auctions at the School Ball has been donated to various charities. The Parents’ Association provide, for example, presents from Father Christmas and refreshments for the children on Sports Day. Extra facilities for the school may also be funded following specific requests from the teachers, for example the recent purchase of the second school minibus.

The PA committee forms a very important and valued link between the school and the parents and its role evolves to meet the changing needs of the children at Weston Green School.
