In Key Stages 1 and 2, English, Maths and Science are planned using the objectives of the government guidelines and also the assessment expectations of future 7+ and 11+ schools. History, Geography, Art, ICT and RE are taught as discrete subjects following the QCA guidelines, but aspects of these subjects are covered within cross-curricular work.
Focus days in subjects such as Maths, Science and Art are organised regularly, to allow pupils to develop their understanding and application of particular subject areas.
We have recently introduced Thursday Afternoon Activities to our timetables, offering pupils the opportunity to take part in a broad range of sessions each week.
Thursday Afternoon Activities include sessions such as Spanish, Fun with Food, Strings, Crafts and Sewing, and Drama. Pupils in Key Stage 2 have also enjoyed helping Reception pupils with reading, art activities and playing alongside them.
Watch a short video of some of our Thursday Afternoon Activities, on the left hand side of this page.
