The Ancient Greek aphorism "know thyself" is one of the Delphic maxims and was inscribed in the forecourt of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, according to the Greek writer Pausanias.

Anyone who knows me reasonably well will tell you that I am a man who eats to live, rather than one who lives to eat. However, the evening I spent in a wonderful hotel restaurant in Rheims in France will live long in the memory as the variety of taste that it offered opened up new horizons.
