We have reached the finish tape and what an astounding term and year it has been - full of energy and accomplishment, laughter and joy, full of those ‘magic moments’ which have punctuated the term and, indeed, the school year; you will have your own, I know. In my own mind’s eye, this term I can see rockets firing high into the Thames Ditton sky on ‘Science Boffins Day’, the production of ‘The Tempest’ by a visiting theatre company and the Quantum maths workshops, the trips to Forest School with Kindergarten, the superb project work by so many, the amazing ‘Animal Rumble Grumble’, the innumerable sporting successes (perhaps most prominent amongst them, Sports Day, the wonderful mini-marathon and the national football finals), the exhausted but still exuberant Year 5 and Year 6 pupils after their PGL experience and the lovely grandparents’ day. So much of it has epitomised our motto: ‘Learning with Joyful Enthusiasm’. It is a fitting note on which to say a fond farewell to this year’s fantastic Year 6 - we shall miss them a very great deal.
After such a great term and year, may you have a glorious summer break – it is richly deserved by the children, their wonderful teachers and no doubt their parents and grandparents as well. See you in September when the new building will greet us and we shall embark on the next stage of the adventure.
