We are almost at the end of another term and Christmas draws near – indeed next week will in essence be ‘Christmas week’ for us here. We have begun with the lovely Nativity plays and the Carol Service last night and we shall move through the weekend via the Christmas Fair into a time of fun and celebration with Christmas discos, jumper days, Christmas lunch and a final ‘sing-a-long’ with carols before heading to families for further times of joy at home.
It will be a fitting end to the busy term. As parents, I suspect you will view your children much differently from September, which may well seem something of a distant memory. Certainly for me as Head, the children seem to have grown remarkably in so many ways, blossoming so wonderfully well in these last months; many of them look set for their next academic year already! They have achieved so much and I have been delighted by all that has been accomplished. If the wall on which we hang their Head’s certificates is a measure of their success, then it has been another amazing term as we are running out of wall!
There is much to give thanks for at Weston Green and it is right we celebrate all the children have accomplished. As we do so, let us not forget God’s own son, born in a humble stable who changed the world. May you have a blessed Christmas.
