Countdown to our Nursery

Posted on: 16 Oct 2020 by Weston Green School

We are very excited that the plans for our new nursery are becoming a reality. This week we are thrilled to announce that, following a rigorous recruitment process, Mrs Sarah Merry has been appointed as our new Nursery Manager from January 2021 - when the nursery opens its doors!

Mrs Merry has demonstrated her huge experience and understanding in this area together with a real passion and enthusiasm for establishing the nursery as a core part of our Kindergarten offer at WGS.

Working within the existing team, Mrs Merry is keen to establish the nursery and integrate this into our current Kindergarten, whilst ensuring that opportunities and activities are appropriate to a child’s developmental stage.  Following Mrs Merry’s appointment, we wish to reassure parents that she will not be leaving Kindergarten and will still very much be a part of the team and involved in your children’s lives. We will be recruiting an additional Kindergarten teacher and this is already in process, this is in addition to a new Nursery Assistant to support learning and care.

Over the coming weeks our new ‘Garden Room’ will be built, lifting the capacity of our current Kindergarten space to allow a flexible approach to activities and age ranges both inside and out. From January 2021 our nursery will offer care for children from 2+ and the opportunity for extended year rather than just school term time.  If you would like to find out more about our 2+ provision or extended year for all in Kindergarten, please do get in touch. Information on fees for both traditional school year and extended year are available here and we are taking registrations for places now.
