Harvest .. a time to celebrate, a time to give thanks, a time to remember others.
I have experienced few better ways of going into this half-term break. The Harvest Services by the youngest in Early Years all the way through Key Stages 1 and 2 up to Year 6 were inspiring. It wasn't just the superb singing and speaking (how often we forget how young the children are when they lead so confidently); it was their joy in celebration, their passion in advocating change of habits and their obvious desire to meet the needs of those who simply have ‘less’. If all this were not in itself enough, the support and compassion of the parents who gave both goods and money so generously to support others made for a truly wonderful time – a time when we can whole-heartedly give thanks for all the blessings we have whilst being mindful of and responding to the needs around us. It was another occasion when as Head of this lovely school, it was as humbling as it was inspiring.
