Already three weeks have gone in the new school year! It has been a truly wonderful to start the term and year, with so much already to be thankful for. The new children (and staff) have settled into the rhythm of school life and we are underway – indeed, I cannot think of a better beginning to a school year than this one, with the older children quickly back to working hard and the smallest children settling so well into the school.
For those somewhere in the middle, it has been a remarkable start. Some would say it was something of a risk taking all the Year 3 and Year 4 children away together in Week 1 of a new school year, and indeed it was. However, that well-considered decision and the excellent programme of activities have reaped such an enormous reward, with the children revelling in those opportunities and each one growing as a result. We aim to be an inspiring and nurturing school where the individual flourishes – the short time away was surely a supreme example of all those ambitions coming together. My congratulations to the children (and staff) who made it such a memorable, exciting and valuable time together.
At the ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening, I set out briefly where we have come from in the last few years and where we are headed in this. At the heart of all those plans lies that desire to provide a daily experience which is inspirational, caring and joyful, which celebrates and nurtures each child for their unique individuality and brings from them their very best – may they know such a year.
