As luck would have it the themes for my assemblies, and subsequent discussions in classes, this term were already planned to focus on the power of resilience, determination and perseverance within the context of setting ourselves New Year's resolutions. Given the events of the first few weeks of term, this theme has taken on a different but even more powerful context. 2021 has already tested our resilience and determination to succeed and achieve even the simplest of things, and our new year goals may well have shifted somewhat!
However, despite this time feeling harder than ever, our children have shown us such determination and resilience in the way they have engaged and worked so hard to gain the most from their remote learning experiences. We are so proud of them.
Unfortunately, this way of working is now not new for us, so this term our staff have worked hard to ensure their provision and ways of working have been adjusted even more to suit the needs of their children and as a result of parental feedback. Thank you for providing this. We are acutely aware that this will be a long haul and we will need to continually refresh and amend what we do to strengthen and sustain the experiences of our children.
Communication with you is crucial at this time through such things as termly reports and parents evenings, newsletters and the mailing, weekly meets with your teacher, as well as enabling you to feel connected with the school through our social media channels. Please sign up to these, where you will see that despite us working mainly remotely, enthusiasm for learning and focus on progress is still very much our priority. You will also see how our new nursery is beginning to thrive within our Kindergarten which remains open every day during this time.
I would like to extend my thanks to our parent community for the support and appreciation you have shown the staff team. Your comments mean so much to them. In addition, my thanks go to our entire staff team who are working tirelessly to provide a board and rich curriculum and maintain those crucial relationships between children that are so important at this time, ensuring our school community remains strong and as vibrant as ever.
