This term we have introduced a few new ideas so that we can more obviously celebrate the children’s effort and achievement. In assembly, we now award a ‘Star of the Week’ certificate to highlight what we consider the outstanding performance over the past 7 days; this may focus upon one particular piece of work or, more probably, a sustained determination to deliver the best – and that is certainly worth acknowledging and celebrating.
We also award a special Headmaster’s Award to any child who has excelled in her/her work. These certificates are only given for the highest calibre work; they set the standard for others to aspire to and again give us the chance to say a collective ‘well done’.
As the term progresses, I expect the stars around us to shine even more brightly …
