Time to celebrate

Posted on: 10 Dec 2015 by Weston Green School

What a term it has been! It has been jam-packed with learning activity from Kindergarten through to Year 6. The children have been constantly striving for higher standards, each at their own levels and the effort grades for each of the pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2 are evidence of that earnest and sustained approach. Add to that the success of the Under 11 football team, who have qualified for the national finals, the advance in drama and the wonderful Art Exhibition of this week and you can see why I have been delighted by all that has been accomplished and I hope the children feel a sense of achievement as they head into the final few days of term. As you know, we like to celebrate the children’s highest stand of work with a Head’s Certificate – the wall on which they hang has never had so many certificates, such has been the high quality output this term.

Now our thoughts turn to very much to Christmas which will no doubt be full of all activity, gifts, family time and eating which this festive time inevitably brings. Today we celebrate, in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, the birth of Jesus and so, midst all the other things, let us not forget the child, born in a humble stable who changed the world.

May you have a blessed Christmas.
