Thursday 18th September may have been an important and historic day for the people of Scotland, but at WGS the children were preoccupied with their own election. KS2 children who wanted to represent their class on the School Council were asked to prepare and give a short election speech to their classmates. Once the candidates had all been heard, secret ballots were held. And so it was that on Monday morning they arrived at their KS2 celebration assembly eager to find out the results. Class by class the results were announced until all four Councillors were named: Year 3 is represented by Atticus and Beatrice, Year 4 by Alice and Joseph, Year 5 by Monty and Olivia and Year 6 by Brice and Ella. Mr Harrison welcomed the children and then announced even more exciting news - he was giving them £100 to spend! Later on Monday the children met with Mrs Hawkins to begin thinking about their new responsibilities. Watch out for news of how they are getting on.
