Posted on: 08 Apr 2014 by Weston Green School | Category: General News
Weston Green celebrated World Book Day with a visit from the Author, Zehra Hicks. Zehra has a strong link with Weston Green as her aunt founded the original school and her father was born in what is now the Year 6 classroom when the school was still a house.
The whole school enjoyed hearing about Zehra’s background and listening to her stories in assembly. Each year group then took part in a workshop.
The children produced a range of wonderful work related to World Book Day, including book reviews, book cover designs, storyboards, making book marks and writing their own version of Zehras stories. There were prizes won for some of the best work, which is now on display in the library.
It was a fun and interesting day for the school!
