Year 5 team are Battle of the Brains champions

On Friday 9th November, a team of pupils from Year 5 represented Weston Green at the "Battle of the Brains" quiz held at Epsom College. The team worked fantastically together and were delighted to be crowned champions.

Read a report from quiz team member, Seth:

When we arrived with our trusty mascot and our supporters, no-one knew how it would go. We didn't know how hard the questions would be, how tough the Quiz Master would be, or who we would be up against. In Round One, we worked hard and it paid off as we won by a clear margin. During the well-earned break, we enjoyed some giant jammie dodgers that were almost as big as our heads and shortbread that you could only dream of!

In the nail-biting final against Prospect House, everyone was holding their breath, even Mrs Evans! Sarani, Siolfor-Rose, William and I worked as a team and managed to answer enough questions to win the competition; Weston Green were victorious by 11 points! We were presented with a trophy that was almost as tall as Siolfor-Rose! We felt proud to be representing Weston Green and the first-ever team from our school to have won. We also collected a certificate each and a goody bag.
