Drama This Half Term

During drama this term, all pupils have been preparing for the upcoming filming of the summer productions; Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego performed by KS1 and the sequel Carmen Sandiego Strikes Again performed by KS2. Year 6 will be featured in the main acting roles. They created their characters through physical exploration and group improvisations and the show was devised based upon these initial concepts. Years 3, 4 and 5 will be the ensemble and supporting cast, portraying people from every continent of the world. Working with props can present a challenge to any actor but the pupils are more than happy to demonstrate their coordination and focus during rehearsals. In KS1, pupils have been working on choreography and speaking lines. Working in front of a greenscreen has helped to promote spatial awareness.
