With Reception excitedly exploring the local woods at Forest School and Kindergarten pupils fascinated by the changing of the seasons in the trees that surround us, it was only right that we went on a woodland adventure together.
Kindergarten and Reception eagerly boarded the coach - many of them for the first time, demonstrating our Squirrel Learner Profile. We then journeyed together to the Polka Theatre, to enjoy an engaging and inspirational storytelling performance of ‘In the Winter Wood’.
The children had a wonderful time and were perfectly polite to our coach driver and the staff at the Polka Theatre. They gave their undivided attention and respectful listening to the performers and were thoroughly engaged as the stories unfolded. We even got to join in, singing songs and howling like a pack of wolves at the end of the story!
Back at school, our theatre experience has already inspired lots of discussions about the woods and the animals that live there. It was a truly tremendous theatre trip.
