We certainly did have fun in the glorious West Wittering sunshine last Tuesday as we celebrated the end of the school year. It was also a lovely way to say goodbye to our wonderful Year 2 children who leave the Key Stage to join Year 3 in September.
Our day started with a safety talk from the local lifeguard, who was impressed with the children’s knowledge of keeping safe at the seaside. We compared seaside trips to those of Victorian times and looked for the similarities and differences between now and long ago. Year 2 explored different habitats, building on their learning from their ‘habitats’ topic. Of course, we also found a bit of time to play in the sand and enjoy an ice lolly. What a wonderful day!
