What a morning! The rain was absent, the children gave their all and this all made it a very successful day for our first ever house cross country. The children had been shown the route the previous week and were given a quick refresher before their race started. The children in years 3&4, were tasked with completing a 1.5km circuit as per the ISA competition, with house points being awarded for all children who completed it. The children in years 5&6 were tasked with completing a 2km circuit. Needless to say, the children gave it their all, showing some of the traits we associate with Weston Green, perseverance, teamwork and independence. Those children who finished first, after recovering from their endeavours, were quick to support their peers as they came down the final stretch. Congratulations to Kiara who was the overall winner in upper key stage two, and to Rafe, who was the overall winner in lower key stage 2. We now have records for a boy and girl in each year group, which will be retained for next year. Well done to all of you, it was certainly an experience.
