Impressive individualism on display

We enjoyed a wonderful morning last week looking at the children’s projects. This was the culmination of several months of independent research by many of the pupils who, this year, were given the theme of Exploration.

Many parents joined us in visiting the classrooms to view the hugely impressive range of projects on display - there were some wonderfully inventive interpretations of the theme and a really impressive amount of research presented in imaginative ways. The children had worked as badgers to research their own project, then as owls to decide what to include, then as spiders in choosing the most creative way to present their material.

Many children chose to look at the exploration of space - past, present and future. Some chose to look at the underwater world or mountaineering and there were many examples of work on individual explorers such as Scott, Shackleton, Hillary and Cousteau. Paintings, posters, diaries, letters, films, models, collages and games all featured, and the standard was impressively high.

Well done to every child who worked on a project. We were all very impressed by your research skills, creativity and hard work.
