Last Friday a squad of 10 girls from Years 4, 5 and 6 travelled to Lingfield Notre Dame for the ISA Regional Netball competition. Even though it was a bitterly cold morning, the girls did not let this deter them and were eager to get out onto the court to warm up and get ready for their first match. Their first opponents were a strong team and the girls found themselves facing defeat in their opening match. Things did not get any easier for the girls but they never gave up and narrowly lost their next matches by a single goal. With their last match of the morning against the reigning champions, the girls had a tough task on their hands but should be incredibly proud of the fact that they only let three goals past them in what ended up being a well-fought game.
After lunch, the girls had the chance to play in a friendly competition with the other teams who had not managed to qualify for the quarter finals. The girls could not wait to get back on court and were determined to beat some of the teams they lost to in the morning. And they did just that! They won all of their games and showed great determination to prove how far their Netball has come in the last year. The girls should be very proud of their performances and the way in which they represented Weston Green. Well done, girls!
