Key Stage 2 Experience Day

Key Stage 2 Experience Day

Our Key Stage 2 Experience Day was a wonderful opportunity for current Year 2 children to have a snapshot of what life at Weston Green still has to offer. It began with immersion into Year 3 life - with the grown-up desks being a key highlight!

Team tasks, speaking and listening challenges and a Q&A session were followed by science and art taught by our specialist teachers. In art, the children created watercolour landscapes, impressing us with their skills of creating depth and mixing colours. Things got slightly smellier as they moved on to science, where the children donned their goggles and became super scientists testing acids and alkalis using cabbages!

The children wowed the sports coaches during games, where they experienced a taste of football, netball and hockey on the Old Cranleighans pitch. The afternoon comprised PSHE and drama activities, where the children were inspired by role models from Years 3 to 6, creating freeze frame images representative of experiences yet to come. The fun-filled day ended with DJ Musica, providing a Spanish taster through music and movement, which all the children enjoyed.

We hope the children had a fantastic day and are looking forward to a positive start to Key Stage 2. We can’t wait to have them!
