Pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 gave very entertaining performances at our recent Teatime Concert, the final instrumental concert of this academic year.
The audience of parents, siblings, grandparents and teachers were treated to performances on the full range of instruments offered by the school, from delightful debut performances by Olivia, Shay, Atticus and Saisha – pianists from KS1 who have only recently started having lessons – through to a beautiful rendition of Moon River by Xannie in Year 6 who is about to leave WGS bound for senior school, with violinists, a drummer and guitarists providing a wonderful mix of performances.
The varied programme gave the young musicians the opportunity to listen to music in a range of different styles as well as performing themselves.
The audience enthusiastically applauded the efforts of all the children. We are grateful to them for their support, as well as to Alex Kennedy and Lisa Hartley for preparing their pupils so well and attending the concert to support them.
We look forward to beginning another year of fantastic music-making in September!
