Key Stage 1 put on a fabulous all-singing, all-dancing show based loosely on Suessical (the Dr Seuss musical). The children worked as brilliant 'bees', all part of the team but each having their own part to play.
Each class contributed a section, with 1P telling us about what they hope to be when they grow up and 1G sharing the things that scare them. The children improvised these scenes during their drama lessons this term, rising magnificently to the challenge set by Ms Griffin to come up with most of the material themselves.
Year 2 told two wonderful stories - one about Princess Atalanta and her father’s plan to find her a husband (which she did not want to go along with as she wanted to travel to far away places) and the other about Ti Moune and the special purpose that the gods had for her which involved her waiting even when she wanted to get on and explore the world. Several children were wonderful 'woodpeckers', persevering in learning quite a few lines to contribute to the story.
With wonderful songs performed by the whole company, the show left the audience feeling uplifted and keen to see what direction the children take as they grow up.
A big thank you to Ms Griffin and all the Key Stage 1 team as well as to the children for all their hard work.
