On 16th May, we held our annual Poetry Competition here at Weston Green. Every pupil in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, worked hard to choose and learn a poem written by a British poet and performed them to their year groups with confidence and expression, making it a tough decision for the teachers to choose their finalists.
On the day of the final, we were lucky enough to have Mr. Andy Rumbold, a published author, judging the competition. He was amazed by the children’s expression, confidence and delivery in both Key Stages. The competition was tough; every finalist recited their poem excellently and the audience were captivated throughout. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon for all. Well done to everyone involved in the competition and congratulations to Ethan and Edward who were runners-up and Samuel (Key Stage 1) and Diggory (Key Stage 2) for coming first place and winning the Poetry Competition cups!
