As part of the celebration of Harvest time, the children visited Garson’s Farm to enjoy a tractor ride around the land and then pick pumpkins in the biggest pumpkin patch we’d ever seen! The challenge was to find a pumpkin the size of your head, and the children had an amazing time. Following on from our adventure we used the pumpkins to make soup. Most of the children loved the taste, although we did have a few more mixed reviews as well!
Our week culminated with the Harvest Celebration, for all Early Years parents to enjoy. Kindergarten and Reception sang beautifully, performed poems and, most importantly, got into the Harvest spirit and donated fruits and vegetables to those in need. The smiles on everyone’s faces showed it was a wonderful week.
