Reception had a wonderful, educational and fun trip to Bocketts Farm on the 10th March. First, the children experienced pet handling of some of the smaller animals on the farm, namely a rabbit, guinea pig and a mouse. They then witnessed a nanny goat, called Shelley, being milked. The children enjoyed coming up to the goat and stroking it. Next, they visited the enclosures of bigger animals and one of the highlights was seeing the new-born lambs.
The next attraction was the tractor-trailer ride which took the children on a tour around the farm to see all the many different types of animals living there. By this time, both children and staff had built up an enormous appetite, so the picnic lunch made by our chef, Matt, went down a treat!
Finally, the day ended off on a high note as we all watched the Bocketts Farm Pig Race! The children cheered as their pig came second!
