Reception visit the Look Out Discovery Centre

Reception children had a marvellous time when they visited the Look Out Discovery Centre last week. The first discovery was finding out that we had the whole centre to ourselves - our very own personal scientific playground!  We quickly got to work exploring as many of the hands-on activities as possible during the day.  Some highlights included the extraordinary room of lights where we could see hundreds of ourselves (what’s not to love about that?!). We added to our step count by climbing the tall - and definitely wobbly, we decided -  tower. We were impressed by the many exciting things we could move, make, light up, change state and observe. The trip generated lots of questions, gave us new words, new ideas and helped us to start to make connections between what we know and what we yet have to find out.  One of our school values is curiosity and our visit to the Discovery Centre has shown that these children are about to start KS1 with this value topped up to the max!

It’s fantastic to have been able to fit in another school trip and we are incredibly thankful to the Look Out Discovery Centre for providing us with a brilliant, and safe, day.
