Although the seas might have been choppy and these are unchartered waters, the youngest of our remote learners have had a whale of a time in the last few weeks! They’ve been superstar(fish) and created work fit for a treasure chest!
We have spent the last few weeks under the sea and meeting pirates and mermaids. Our Reception shipmates have walked the plank (using mathematical vocabulary to order their planks by size), worked hard in the galley (creating food sea scenes and testing their cutting skills), impressed the Captain with their creative minds (designing wonderful sea themed artwork) and ensured the capture of the most feared pirates (written wanted posters). They’ve done all this while listening and understanding many stories linked to the sea, keeping fit doing sea themed yoga, keeping up with their phonics and so. so much more.
The Reception team is so proud of how the children are getting on with their learning from the comfort of their homes. Judging by the photos and the enthusiasm with which they share their learning, the children themselves are clearly proud of the work they are producing - and so they should be! They are the best shipmates and our very own Weston Green precious treasures.
