Key Stage 1 and 2 Skipping Workshops

Last Friday, all pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 had a chance to take part in skipping workshops and the day was topped off with a special skipping assembly. During this assembly, some of the children showcased the amazing skipping skills that they had learnt earlier in the day. All of the teachers and pupils were amazed at some of the skipping skills that were on show.

During the workshops, each class had a half-hour slot where the children were taught a range of skipping games and skills including the shark attack game, criss-cross skipping, double skipping, backward skipping and double dutch, to name a few. Pupils demonstrated excellent perseverance and resilience in order to master the skills they were being taught and words of encouragement among peers were flying about the hall. It was a lovely opportunity to see the children encouraging one another whilst all trying a new activity.

Skipping fever has definitely hit Weston Green with breaktimes and lunchtimes a sea of skipping ropes and spectacular skills on show.
