Sports Report: Year 2 is Top of the League

On Saturday 10 May, 11 boys from Year 2 arrived at Shrewsbury House School resplendent in their WGS football kits. After a last minute training session on Friday afternoon, the boys were eager to put their new skills into practise.

One of the Weston Green teams was a man down, but this only made the boys more determined as they weaved their way down the field, passing, dribbling, tackling and scoring a multitude of goals.

The boys were encouraged by their coaches and parents and showed tremendous teamwork. Undefeated in eight games, scoring 21 and conceding only two goals, Weston Green definitely went to the top of the parents and coaches league.

Tommy M and Sam T were presented with Shrewsbury House jerseys for showing great determination and skills in scoring goals and defending, but all boys must be congratulated on their teamwork and sportsmanship. All boys were rewarded for their efforts with a SHS goody bag and doughnut!

A special thanks to Mr. Dowson, Mr. Godwin, Mr. Morgan and Mr. Sheridan for coaching the boys.
