One of our regular topics of conversation in our Food Committee meetings is ‘food waste’. Our lovely chefs, Matt and Stefan, work very hard in the kitchen preparing delicious foods for us, but unfortunately not all of it is eaten. We are getting better and better at reducing our waste, thanks to the help of Captain Wasteless (houses earn stickers and house points if they have the least waste each week) but we want to do more. So we decided to do our assembly based around trying new foods. The Superfood Superheroes encouraged the children to try something that they weren’t sure about. They loved it and they managed to stop Evil Miss Waste from taking over the planet.
Thanks to Mr and Mrs Symons, at the end of the assembly there was a superfood feast, as each class took away punnets of blueberries to eat as a snack. We hope that everyone will try a new food each week or even every day!
