On Monday Weston Green celebrated World Book Day, the day was jam-packed full of a range of book focused activities. We started the day with a costume parade in the playground, it was amazing to see the effort that children had gone to and how great they all looked. Children then had an exciting morning of decorating classroom doors in the style of their chosen book some of these included; The Rainbow Fish, The Three Little Pigs, No Room on The Broom and Matilda all of the classrooms looked fantastic! The children then had the opportunity to have a book date where they spoke about their favourite book with other children before deciding which books they would like to now read at home.
In the afternoon children took part in a book quiz to test their knowledge of children’s literature. The day finished with different year groups meeting together to share stories and read to each other, it was lovely to see the children reading amongst each other and thoroughly enjoyed reading.
